How a hail claim goes, in order
Counted from the day the storm crosses your street. Most Chicagoland roofs run on about this schedule. It is your roof and your decision at every line. Our part is the ladder, the camera, the explanation, and the install.

Day 0
The storm If water is coming in, call. We tarp the open spot the same day and photograph what is under it before it gets covered. If nothing is leaking, there is no rush. Hail damage does not get worse overnight, and a roof that is dry can wait for daylight. -

Day 1
The inspection We walk every slope with chalk and a camera. Test squares on each face, gutters, downspouts, soft metal on the vents, the siding on the windward wall. Within 48 hours we walk you through what we found, with labeled photos, so your most important asset is properly protected. If the roof is fine, we say so, and you keep the photos for the next storm. -

Week 1
You decide The decision is yours. Take your time and talk it over with anyone you like. The price for the work is one clear number, in full, and it does not change if you call back in a week. Nobody sits in your driveway waiting for a signature. -

Install day
Usually one day Tear off, dry in, shingle, clean up. Ice and water shield in the valleys and along the eaves, synthetic underlayment, new drip edge, six nails per shingle, ridge vent. A Chicagoland ranch is one day. A two-story with a steep back slope is two. -

Same evening
The walkthrough We walk the yard and the roofline together. Magnet sweep of the lawn and the driveway, gutters cleared of grit, flashing checked at every wall. The final invoice matches the price we agreed on. You get the photo set, before and after, to keep.
What we do, and how
Roof replacement
Full tear-off to the deck, not a layover. Architectural shingles, six nails each, ice and water shield in every valley and along every eave.
Roof repair
Creased tabs, a lifted ridge cap, a cracked pipe boot, a flashing leak at the chimney. Small jobs get a clear price too, and most are done the day we come out.
Storm and hail
Chalk-marked test squares on every slope, photographed and dated, explained to you within 48 hours. If the hail did not bruise the mat, we say so.
Siding and gutters
Vinyl and fiber cement on the windward wall, matched to the existing profile where a match still exists. Seamless aluminum gutters run to length on site.
Soffit and fascia
Aluminum wrap over rotted fascia boards, vented soffit panels so the attic breathes and the shingles last. Color matched to the gutters.
Emergency tarping
Same day if water is coming in. Photographed before the tarp goes on, screwed down with battens, not just weighted.

What we will and will not do
Said plainly so you can hold us to it.
We will
- Document every slope.Front, back, both gables, the garage, the shed. Photos dated and labeled by slope, and they are yours whether or not you hire us.
- Give you one clear price.One number for the whole job, before any work starts. The price you are quoted and the price on the invoice match to the dollar.
- Tell you if the roof is fine.Some roofs take hail and shrug it off. We would rather lose the job than put a new roof on a house that did not need one.
- Install to the shingle maker's spec.So the warranty on the wrapper is real. Six nails, proper starter course, ice and water shield where the manufacturer says, not where it is cheapest.
We will not
- Cut a side deal on the price.The price we agree on is what you pay, and it is the same number for you as for the house next door. No discount for signing at the door, no rebate nobody wrote down.
- Tell you your roof is damaged before we are on it.Not from the driveway, not from a drone shot, not from the neighbor's roof. Nobody knows what hail did to a shingle mat until they have their hand on it.
- Ask you to sign anything on day one.You get the inspection first and time to think it over. No contract at the door, no ladder on the roof until you say so.
- Send strangers to your door in our name.If we did not knock, it was not Ironclad. Call the number on this page and we will tell you whether the person on your porch works with us.
